A mental workout is basically what it sounds like. It is a workout for the psychospiritual self in order to experience the best psychospiritual fitness level that an individual can experience. We can do this with things like contemplative exercises such as the loving kindness exercise that we practiced this week. Much like physical or intellectual fitness training, we will need to regularly practice these exercises in order to discover the best psychospiritual fitness that we can. Studies show that as we continue to practice this sort of workout, our capacity grows as well as our entire wellbeing.

Hello,
ReplyDeletePsychological growth comes from within oneself. Spiritual development is acquired overtime and throughout a person’s life. The inner layers of the mind are sustained through spiritual development and psychological growth. Positive emotions promote long term well being. Attitude is everything. A person’s attitude correlates to perspective and capabilities.

Casey, how do you practice psychospiritual fitness? I am going to try to meditate... first by using the Dacher CD exercises. I have always wanted to journal, but just can't get into it. I need to start and create a habit. Have you found success in any area?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. We have to do it regularly just like fitness exercises. We will get stronger and better as we practice more.I support your findings and it seems we had similiar experiences. I too am curious on how you pracice psychospiritual fitness, other than meditate. I have a hard time with that one. However, I am still implementing it nightly before bed as I fall asleep at night.
ReplyDeleteWhat things would you do to help train your mind? I would do puzzles and word searches to help keep my mind fresh.
